Beast Sports Nutrition Creature Creatine is available in 30 and 60 servings. At the time of writing, our best offer is £14.48 for 30 servings. If we break this down by size (150g), this works out at £9.65 per 100g of powder. This works out at 48p per serving, which is over 5 times as much as its closest competitor products.
Taste is not as important when it comes to Creatine. We’d always recommend using unflavoured and mixing it with a product such as BCAAs for maximum performance in the gym.
However, this powder only comes in flavours – there is no unflavoured version. Due to other ingredients being added, this does lower the creatine content in the powder.
The flavours are Beast Punch (presuming fruit), Citrus and Pink Lemonade. We tried the Pink Lemonade flavour and it was a great taste, but again, we really do prefer the idea of using an unflavoured version with a different drink of your choice.
Creatine is usually quite grainy in texture, similar to sand. Across the board, it’s easy to mix. Just try not to add too much to your liquid, as it can sink to the bottom and stay there if too much is added, and you don’t need to be excessive with it.
We added 5g to 1l of water and it mixed with no problems. Nearly all creatine products will have 10 mixability.
Effectiveness is even simpler for creatine. There are lots of different creatines, e.g. monohydrate – the most common form of creatine on the market, ethyl ester, and a lot of brands use Creapure which is a form of creatine monohydrate, that a lot of brands use for their creatine.
Creatine monohydrate helps the cells in your muscles provide more energy, improves high-intensity exercise, speeds up muscle growth, can lower blood sugar levels and can even combat neurological diseases.
You can cycle creatine, but we would recommend taking it year-round as there are no drawbacks of using creatine. You also get creatine from food sources such as meat. In order to maximise creatine stores in our body, we would start using 20 grams daily for 5-7 days. This should be followed by a ‘maintenance’ dosage of 2-10 grams per day. Another approach is 3g daily for 28 days.
Per 5g serving, we are getting 200mcg of Biotin, which helps to alleviate muscle and joint inflammation. We also have 50 micrograms of chromium for better blood circulation, and then a 4g blend of different creatines, including monohydrate, creatine malate, creatine anhydrous, CreaTrona and creatine Gluconate.
In the flavoured versions, you are only getting 76-74% creatine, which results in about 3.8g-3.7g, so it is less. Flavoured also contains artificial flavours and sweeteners.
